C2C Motorsports Captures A Win
PHP-Nuke
Posted by:

After starting third and running second for most of the race, our very own Murare managed to capture the win in Speed Affair's Duel at Daytona driving for C2C Motorsports in the #42 Yamaha / Texaco-Havoline Chevrolet. A fortunate turn of events put him in a position to win. After pitting for half a tank of fuel late in the race, a caution came out just as he was leaving pit road, allowing him to inherit the lead. Murare held off BobbyLite14 on the green-white-checkered to take the win.

Congratulations, Murare! Way to go get 'em!

Sorry for the long hiatus - real life strikes again, but I got some goodies for everyone to enjoy.

Check out the Logos section - for all you diecast folks the 2009 Action Racing Collectables text is up, and while you're there, take a look at the two new cars posted...Smoke's #80 HendrickCars.com Impala and the car seen in the site banner are up for download. Also, the much-awaited version 1 of the NW Impala template is up for download.

I'll continue to add new downloads over the course of the week, so check back often. :)

Render area now open for business.

After some help from some close friends I've learned to use 3d Studio Max 9 and I will now be able to render my own cars (and yours) and not have to worry about outsourcing renders to Midnight Racing. I'll be posting render request guidelines in the coming week about where and how to post your cars needed to render.

Also, I'd like to thank Jerry at MRG for linking us on the front page of his site - our membership and exposure has gone up exponentially. In fact, within the last 24 hours we've gotten over 700 hits, far more than we've ever gotten before.

In other news, I'm taking requests again (sim painting is pretty hard to walk away from and inspiration does not wait to strike I'm afraid) after my relatively short hiatus. I encourage those who might have requests to post them in our forums and I will get to them as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Over the last two months or so Midnight Racing Graphics has been cooperating with this site to help get us on our feet. The site owner, Jerry, has said he will let me host my work on MRG as well as C2C, and since I split my time between the two, most work you see done on MRG will probably be available for download here as well. I do have some solo projects I plan on releasing to this site only but believe me when I say there is a lot in store for this site.

I'm extremely proud to say that this site is growing by leaps and bounds, and eventually I hope to expand it to the point to where we can get off of the FreePHPnuke servers and onto our own. Sadly I haven't been able to find any gainful employment as of late but I am working hard on remedying that.

I must stress, however, that though this site has been established for the sim racing community, it can and may serve the actual racing community. It's my belief that people who start out painting as a hobby can make it into a career if they are able to make the right connections, and I hope that this site can provide a place for aspiring painters like myself find a stage in which to showcase their work.

Recently the C2C logo has popped up on a paint scheme at Jayski.com. No, I did NOT design the car, I was merely asked to make a 3D preview for the PR person for Mike Garvey's new team to send in to NASCAR for approval and for Jayski to put up in the paint scheme gallery. Again, I need to stress that I DID NOT design this car but merely transferred their design to 3D so they could get it approved by NASCAR before they went to qualify for the Daytona 500 this Sunday.

In other words, please keep me in your prayers because my grandfather passed away last night. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's and had been bedridden for some time. That has been the reason I have been neglecting to update this site as often as I'd like. I apologize for that and hopefully there will be some exciting new additions coming to the site very soon.
